Winter Update!

Hello! We have some Winter Updates for you!

- Navy competed this last weekend at the UCA Regional Competition and did an amazing job hitting a zero deduction routine! They placed second behind Liberty High School. As with all competitions there are many factors that go into the breakdown of scoring. This year it came down to all squad tumbling and stunt difficulty. However Navy did AMAZING and we are extremely proud of them for all of the time and effort they put into Oak Park Cheerleading.

- All calendars have been sent home for December (January will go home with the cheerleaders before finals week!). Please let us know if you have any questions. It is extremely important that all cheerleaders be at every event AND practice and if they are unable to make it, coaches need to be notified as far in advance as possible. Thank you for helping with this.

- The upcoming concession stand dates are January 15- 3:30pm, January 23rd- 5pm, January 30th- 5:30pm. Please email Coach Mayabb if you are available to help. We need 3 people for each one.

- Please welcome Shayna Bridges as a new coach to the Oak Park Cheer Staff! She comes to us with an extensive cheer and dance background and currently works at Antioch Middle School. We are so excited to have her join us this season!

- Basketball season is here! As with football season we will allow those that need rides to text out prior to 4th quarter. If they are planning on staying at school in-between practices and the games, please remind them to have all game day items packed. There will be concessions available but they may want to pack a light snack as well. If there are any cancelations due to weather, we will communicate those ASAP. Please let us know if you have any questions.

- Grades can affect winter eligibility and with cheerleading being a team sport, we need everyone out there. The program has set a goal of ZERO F’s and we think that is a great goal! We will continue to check PowerSchool multiple times a week and provide tutoring and strategies for those needing help in all areas. They are student-athletes (students first) and we want to help allow them to be as successful as they can possibly be.

Thank you for everything you do and please let us know if you have any questions!
